You know what they are doing out there now right? If an age group in a baseball heaven tournament has less than 16 teams entered they have scrapped all playoff semifinals. Bracket winner vs. Bracket winner. You do not see this anywhere else. They do not maintain the scoreboards even for most championship games. They seem interested in getting paid only. The Trophies are old and the same year after year and it seems like they just do not care about the customer. After seeing how it SHOULD be done with this type of facility out at Ripken Myrtle beach this past week baseball heaven seems like the minor leagues of youth baseball facilities. At Ripken for EVERY game the scoreboard is maintained and players are announced for each plate appearance. At the end of the inning you get..."For the Tides...no hits no runs, no errors and at the end of 3 and a half....Tides 2 and ____0". I spoke to the assistant manager out at Ripken about this...They are building another big field and another little league field right now that will be open for 2009....They have also just purchased 50 more acres behind there wonderful facility with plans to expand to 7 more fields within the next 3 years...The manager said Cal and Bill Ripken may be interested in purchasing baseball heaven...and why not? This would essentially give them control of all of the top youth baseball facilities on the east coast. They should control them all...they run it the right way....like baseball people. Oh and did I mention that all of there tournaments have a consolation bracket as well? And a Quarterfinal round? Cmon baseball heaven...put the place up for sale so baseball people can buy it. Scrub the Elephants and decorate the place with the Ripken Logo.

Scrap the elephants and the attitudes.

Make the fields unique. Move the fences in right or left field and make a Fenway Monster with a higher wall.

Move home plate up and adjust the outfield fences deeper in some places so that passed balls or wild pitches mean something with a runner on third.

Give some interest to the place. Act as though you appreciate people traveling from other states to play at your facility. Accomodate people.

Why not have playoffs? Why have meaningless games after a loss?

Why not keep a flatscreen in the main clubhouse that keeps standings updated for the tournaments?

The Ripkens have cash on hand to make Long Island into another baseball Mecca.

Sell Sell Sell

From what I've heard of the owner's origins in baseball, this seems to fit. He's in it for the buck, not making his customers happy.

A couple of years ago, they had a summer fastpitch softball league. He found out he made more from baseball, and told the girls to walk. Add in the fact that he didn't give them much advanced notice as to his plans!

It has nothing to do with the owners, Lou Volpe has been running the place since the day it opened. He is the director of baseball operations, no matter how much you complain the place sells out almost every tournament and will continue to do so and thats all the owners care about

Lets see What Lou Volpe can do with an organized boycott because if they keep dumping on the customers by eliminating the semi-final games thats exactly what he will be dealing with.

Baseball Heaven tournaments do not even count in the grand scheme of things nationwide. Get some new ownership OR attract some teams like Baltimore Buzz, Aberdeen Arsenal, East Cobb (any of the teams). Maybe then people won't laugh at BBH tournament results.

This place is a disgrace...all they care about is $$....they have no interest in Family baseball....they are a bunch of thieves ...

And the manager has been robbing that place for years. Owners are dumb as rocks.
