I'm just trying to get an idea on the cost of travel ball around the Island and what is included for that price. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Every organization and individual team is different. Depends on the cost of the league they register in, type of uniforms and required equiptment (some teams want you to buy everything matching), some teams hire formal paid coaching staffs, workout and conditioning costs vary, etc, etc. Price range is huge.

And coaches make money off of this stuff too. Dont believe for a second that they dont. Theres nothing wrong with it but just call it what it is. They do all the legwork so there entitled to some profit. how much? depends on team and parents pocketbooks. I've heard of teams making an extra $900 per player on top of what it costs for uniforms and tournaments. Do the math
Well I have a team now that I run. We rep the U.S Military but its been kind of a pay as you go and no ones making money, but it has opened us up to lack of commitment from some parents. I think some don’t realize how much is in travel ball. Its dang near another full time job and at times cost me out of pocket. Some I think sill think its little league. So I think the only thing to do to make it work is to make it more like a business so I have the commitment from parents and I can put more time into it.
So let me throw this out there because I would really like to hear some feed back. Keep in mind I’m still new to coaching but definitely not to the game of baseball. I’ve been coaching for about 3 seasons. I had the opportunity to go to collage on a scholarship for football and baseball but had to pass it up because of personal reasons. So I don’t consider myself a pro coach by any means, but I also even though I am a dad don’t think of myself as a daddy ball coach either. To me daddy ball are guys who never played the game and use the coaching as a way to keep there kids playing as an all star. That’s just not me.
So here’s what I‘ve put together:
NJBL Spring, Summer, Fall or something equal too for season play. A Spring tournament at Ripken in Maryland local tournament between Spring/Summer A late Summer early Fall tournament at Ripken in Maryland
Home and Away Jerseys. Right now we wear the same camo jersey as the U.S Military All Star team. So our jerseys are heavy weight pro quality. We found it easier because of the high cost though the company that makes our jerseys to just have parents buy pants, belts, and socks. So that would be extra if through us. Matching hats and batting helmets with logo 12 weeks of indoor training starting in January at Performance Factory with pro instruction. We also do trophies at the end or the year.
Season play- appx. $500 to register Umpires- $55 per game; depending on age group either 1 or 2 umpires per game (figure 14-18 games per season) Ripken Tournament- $1,000 Local tournament- $600 Jerseys- quality jersey w/name,....$75 per Hat- $15 per Helmet- $35 per Training- 12 weeks figuring trainers every other week- $2,700
every team will do what works for them you can't compare some guys charge $500.00 and some $3000.00 you can buy a car from 20k to 200k what you want is what you pay for. Stop killing guys over price some programs warrent the money some dont do your homework and go

Demarini, Voodoo BBCOR High School Baseball Bat $299.99
we play at bbh and it cost 500 per season, cooperstown 1000, uniforms and jackets 125,tourney spring memorial and wood bat 250,indorr practice 1x week all year long,650.so as you see it's about 4000,plus side instructors if you do that.it can be costly but like the man said watching your kid on a good grade team is priceless, it's not little league ,kids actually make great plays and hit the ball where they are supposed to. the kids who can play ball a little better get much much more out of it and end up loving the game more.good luck and i like the military idea.
