You guys are going to start a war with the North and South side of Commack Crap just let it go. I am a former Board member of a Commack Little League and Past President and the crap has got to stop you are hurting the kids please I ask that you grow up and show some class.
No matter what anyone does in LL or travel or BBH, BOS, NJBL in the world of everybody does what I want or I complain you will never win and you will always have an issue with someone.
Heard a story that a team was going to sue a local organization that held a tournament yes I said SUE as in a leagal action becasue they got medals instead of trophies!
The crap must stop! When I was a kid we had one Williamport team from a town not ten. The LL isn't saying anything differnt to little Johny now then they did 20 years ago its just now Little Johny's dad and mom can't handle the truth so they sit on their computer and talk out their butts about why the system is wrong and their kid is the best and got screwed.
Not every kid is an Honor student, not every kid can play the piano and not every kid can hit a baseball but its still your kid and just love them for what they are good at and go with that. Parents take a long hard look at yourselves you are setting these kids up with a horrible skill set for the work place when they become adults. Part of life is failure and disappointment and so is summer vacation and ice cream.
Tell you a story had a team go all the way to a State Championship yes NYS state Championship game and we lost, we were far from home, it was hot and we had played eight hard solid weeks of ball. And then as quick as the last out it was over Wow that sucked.
The players, their parents, sibblings and coaches were all deeply upset, crying at the loss, yes even at the end of the world series adult players cry no harm, and then the host league President gathered all the players and said come over to the concession stand and he handed out free ice cream. In less then five minutes the players were running around with the players from the team that just beat them laughing and gorging themselves on as much ice cream as they could eat. I watched in amazement and took that lesson with me for the next ten years of coaching and have had a blast since. And have won a lot along with the attitude its only baseball guys.
As the boys get older Hooters replaces Carvel sorry moms the boys get older but the bottom line is they move on and so should these crazy parents its a game that should be played for fun and exercise not to increase family and community stress.
Just a thought I expect to be killed here for posting these comments but oh well, it just proves my point.

Great comment and great story! Sad to say only a few will get it. My boys all played baseball and it wasn't until the first one graduated HS and chose to stop playing ball that we realized how trivial the whole baseball part of life was. He moved on to a more serious part of life called a college education. The others still play for their HS and we've learned to have fun and stop sweating the samll stuff. The one or two kids that make baseball a career will get there because they deserve it, not because of what their parents do or say when they are young.
