JUNE 20, 2011: The "Elite" ranking a site was exposed to be a sham, but the concept had some merit. Here is an opinion of the 10u teams and rankings. Feel free to dispute and disagree but keep in mind that this type of thing always becomes subjective.
1. Bellport Braves- Still the team to beat. Undefeated (7-0) at Baseball Heaven for the summer season after taking BBHSpring Am.Championship. They have knocked off all challengers; #3 Mudcats (3-0), #4 Con. Chiefs (4-1) and #5 LI Falcons (3-0) Is there a possible meeting with #2 in the future? Stay tuned. 2. Oceanside Bulldogs- They move into the #2 spot with yet another win over #3 Mudcats. They lost a well played, heart breaker (2-1) to the LI Prospects at HYO this weekend. This caused them to miss the final due to a tie-breaker. Strong showing in all of their tournaments this year but continue to be the bridesmaid after winning a March Madness tourney earlier this year. 3. LI Mudcats (Black)- Despite a good showing and win at HYO Father's Day Tourney, they lost again this weekend to Oceanside, keeping them at #3. The Mudcats have lost the last 3 in a row to both #1 & #2 and continue to go back and forth with #4. Beating Conyo, in the last of this see-saw match up, pushes them up a notch to #3. 4. Connetquot Chiefs- Conyo's tough loss to #3 Mudcats force them to slip into this spot. Their only losses seem to come at the hands of the Mudcats or Bellport. They remain the only LI team to have beaten the #1 Braves. They slip, but are still a top contender. 5. LI Falcons Black- Will continue to give them the nod here because of winning BBH Spring National Division. Two losses against Bellport, and Conyo on the schedule, will be tough for this fledgling team. They can go either way on this list. We'll see how they fare. 6. Massapequa Cyclones- Undefeated in the NJBL American division. Knocked off Garden City Warriors to secure their spot in NJBL. Need more tournament play to move up. 7. Plainedge Reds- Played a solid spring at BBH but could not get past the Falcons in the BBH National Div. Championship. Need to see more from them. Like the Falcons, they can go either up or down this summer. 8. GC Warriors- 11-2 in NJBL American Division with only losses coming at the hands of the Cyclones and LI Braves. 9. LI Prospects- Made a name for themselves this weekend by knocking off #2 Bulldogs in HYO tourney. They were 13-1 in NJBL 10u Sectional and will now better competition in NJBL regional this summer. Let's see if they can capitalize and continue to move up in the rankings. 10. Hanks Yanks TBD! Sponsored by Hank but can they play like the Yanks? We'll find out soon enough. Already a loss at BBH to #5 Falcons but showed life. Let's see what they can do the rest of the summer.
Who else should get a nod? You decide.

Tournaments First of all to have any credibility you have to play the top teams. Second you have to win championships, especially with creditable teams.
Leagues (NJBL/BBH/NCYAA/LSW) Certain League hold very little creditability at all.
NJBL has one or two top teams; the top two divisions are American & National. Any other divisional has no creditability at all. That why teams like LI Prospects play in the Regional division!
Baseball Heaven Has two top 10 teams in summer league (where’s the creditability there?)
NCYAA Has at least 4 top teams in it. Only difference you play queens & nyc teams too.
LSW Is a 16 team league. Two divisions but everybody plays everybody. no hiding!
#1 Bellport is top team for now until they play another quality opponent. #2 Mudcats for four championships & 2 finalist (BBH & Ripken ) #3 Bulldogs lose to Prospects just proves that in baseball anybody can win. Can they win the big one without Big G? #4 Chiefs quality team that never gives up. Short on pitching. Runner up BBH Memorial Day #5 Massapequa Coast could easily be top two team. Difficulty of schedule is question? (good match ups in South Shore Tournament) #6 Falcons Black who have they played? #7 Plainedge (disappeared?) #8 Prospects only for HYO win over Bulldogs, got crushed by Mudcats
Is it possible to get all these teams in one league to play year round?
