OK I try to give the benefit of the doubt but I've seen the difference between "tournament", school ball and NJBL umpires and I'm willing to cough up a few more sheckles to get some descent umpiring in NJBL. Am I the only one that notices that Ray Charles has been reincarnated as a NJBL ump???

C Sheen just a little heads up 1/2 of those horrible umpires are school ball umps in Njbl they don't know the rules and when your a school ump nobody can argue with you cause of section 11 . East coast umps are even worse they are on the big power trip trust me for example :tag play at plate umps asks catcher to show him the ball he does in his glove than calls him safe explain that one to me and than his partner tells me he he had good timiing on the call go jerk someone else off and Frankie Z is in love with his do no wrong umpires please stop the B.S.

agree 100% ...we left NJBL and went to another league because most of the umpires are not that good....lesson learned they the same everywhere, most of these guys are doing it for the extra money ...I don"t complain cause I know its not easy and I follow the belief if you don't like it then do it yourself, I think I could do no better, just dealing with getting hit w the ball keeps me behind the fence....If your an ump reading this, just keep your calls constant.....

The NJBL umps are great compared to the Little League District Tournament umps. What a disgrace!

The umps for most leagues seem to want to be a deciding factor in games. I find a lot of them love to antagonize the coaches and fans.

Its funny that you bring up the NJBL umpires. For the past two years, I have noticed a significant decline in the quality of umpires within the NJBL league. I have personally witnessed umpires start fights with coaches and spectators alike. The consistency of poor judgement calls and not knowing the rules adds to the frustration. Frank Sullivan you need to better police and evaluate your umpires.

Yes they are getting paid to do this - so there should be some form of accountability for consistantly bad performance. I'm not talking about the occasional bad call, but the consistantly poor performers should be weeded out. Just like any other job.

It just ruins the game for the kids.

WHAT RUINS THE GAME FOR THE KIDS IS, THE COACHES DON'T EVEN KNOW THE RULES! Last time i checked replay was not available. Seems like you guys are doing the wrong job. Put on a blue shirt or a muzzle. "DON'T TALK ABOUT IT, BE ABOUT IT! No game is played that has both teams agreeing with the ump. You can't blame the ump, when your teams in the dumps!

There's so many teams/games than there was even 5 years ago so more umps are needed. The chances of you getting a good one are pretty bad. There just aren't that many out there.

Anytime my team is in a tight game late in the game I cringe because I know a bad call is coming and will determine the outcome of the game. Yes you get some good and bad calls but lately the umps are deciding games which sucks when your working hard in practices and you lose a playoff or championship game because an ump opens a strike zone so far that Dirk Nowitski coudnt hit it, because he wants to get out of there. REMEMBER BLUE the kids work hard not to lose on one of your lousy calls
