I'm new to this site/message board, so bear with me. If my son is looking for a team, can I post that on here?

Normally I wouldn't totally bash teams. But the guy who runs the organization is an absolute *****. He is making no friends, that is for sure. On top of that he promises parents the world then can't deliver. How can any Manager promise a position to a kid before the team is put together. He promised a kid 1st base then another kid came and he couldn't deliver. Also he has no issue walking up to parents and asking to switch teams while he is in that teams facility. Have some respect for the hosts. There is a time and a place which is the offseason. Also they only have 8, 10, 12 so on even number teams. No 9u. If your from Brooklyn I suggest the Bonnies. And the Bonnies are my biggest competition. Also CP Stars and Whitestone Angles in Queens. If your from Nassau, Suffolk then there are alot of great teams to choose from. Blue Storm are 1 of those teams that beat the same 6 teams over and over and then tell everyone they are the team to beat. Play some competition

Not really, I heard from a good reliable source that all their tournaments the blue storm 8U won were with guns for hire kids from youth service, bonnies and cpstars....I wonder what happens with the kids they use all year around when they go to tournament with those extra kids....sounds like they are all about winning at all cost.

I also heard that half of that team is gone because of the hire guns being use in big games.

Agreed. The manager is a salesman preying on parents that just want to hear the right things. He will sell you the world that he can make your kid this or that but if that is the case why does he replace players for tournaments shouldn't he have made them into players that can win a tournament. He has a couple good players on his team and tells new parents he made them the players they are. My team works hard and we have many good ballplayers but I didnt make them. The parents and kids on my team are very dedicated and I would never take credit for all the hard work they put in.

My neighbors kid was one of these "hired guns" at 8/9/10/11, now that he is 12, and the other kids are growing, they can runlike rabbits, and are multi season sport players, he is really finding it very difficult. He is on the heavier side, only plays baseball, can't make it happen on the 90 foot fields, now his 200 feet homeruns are not even singles because those jack rabbit runners can field a ball from right/center and make the out at 1st.

Understand what the person is saying. A kid plays on a team all year, makes friends then all of a sudden riding the bench because the coach viewed that game as bigger then the rest. How would your son feel? They are 8. They shouldn't be disposable. If you run a good program you shouldn't have to always replace players. They are 8 years old and with help can learn so much in 1 year. This Blue Storm dude goes up to every talented ballplayers parents and tells them don't worry just give me all your info and I will only use him in big games. The rest of the games I have these kids to fill the time in. Your team should be your team. Loyalty is a novelty these days I guess.

This goes on at every age group at every tournament. I never understood it. More important why would parents stand for it. What is the coach really saying? Your kid is good enough to play on my team all spring and summer. So give me your money. But by the way hes just not good enough to play on my team in tournaments. Thats some kind of B/S..... Do your homework when looking for a team. Look around and watch the teams that play regular season and tournaments with the same kids. Does the word team mean anything any more? Good luck finding a team.

Well lets see the so called hired guns u are referring too were 2 players that you r allowed to pick up from your league to go to regionals. Every team picks up players for regionals at every age group. To answer your statement the entire team is in tact outside of 2 players and we know who they were, the kids weren't the problem it's u as a parent. I know that the manager is very dedicated to those kids and u should know first hand with all the practices he had with your son included. My son loves the Blue Storm and u should play recreational ball and not travel ball, noone forces your hand. This is for serious kids who are committed and have a dream and make good friends along the way. Sounds to me like your just a complainer and good luck to the next manger that coaches your son.

that's my question as well... why would parents stand for that?
my kid played against the mudcat black last year and in the last inning the coach put in a kid to run.that was his only role in this playoff game, he didn't play the field or get an at bat, he ran for a batter. are you kidding me? where were the parents, throwing back a few in their red cup?!? it is a shame that the parents let the coaches get away with such nonsense.

My son is not on that team. He plays up in age so hinting that my son couldn't cut it is a joke. Believe me your manager would be kissing up to me. I love my organization and have zero plans to leave but I know for a fact what you are saying is wrong. He not only wanted 2 players from another team but he asks every kid to just give him info. Listen he asked 1 of my organizations coaches to just let him be on roster and he only has to show to like 3 games to be eligible. My coach told him no he was happy where he was and he said thats ok but we just want him for a couple games. Didn't want to take no for answer. I know he is telling you guys that your the team to beat next year which is funny cause the Bonnies are better. Keep drinking that kool aid. Come play some talent. That marine park league is horrible talent wise. You obviously don't know how he works behind the scenes. Or you are 1 of his 2 stud pitchers parents and feel you need to stick up for him. He only brags about 2 kids. You can beat weak teams with 2 kids but can't win against tough comp. without a full team. Also our team doesn't pick up kids for regionals. We win with what we got. If you want to defend him I will put names out there and facts to make you look stupid. I rather not bring kids into it. How about this build an organization the right way. I would never approach parents from another team that allowed me in their facility for a scrimmage game. Where is the class? Bonnies will always be your big brothers and I don't play for them but I do respect them.

This cannot be about 8U baseball. Your not from Conyo by chance are you? Then this would all make sense. You don't wear cut off shirts and push a mop do you? That would REALLY MAKE SENSE.

All I can say is yes they have a very talented 9U team next year. My son is on that team and the coach is one of the best around. The organazation is all for the kids. Matter of fact next year they have 7U,8U,9U,10U,11U,12U 13U as well a couple of developmental teams that the organazation gives a kid a chance to play travel ball and not worry about winning. All I can say come to a workout and the decision will be easy for you.

Not that you know I know facts I guess you don't want to have that conversation anymore. Workouts? What happens when he brings in a kid for just tournaments to replace kids that are always there. I guess you are cool with that and you fit in well there.

Why is Conyo always in your mouth? You are a grown man and can't hit as far as our boys. Nothing NEW HERE Conyo still has haters blowing their horn for them. You know somethings going right when people can't stop talking about ya!

to clarify... my son played against the MUDCAT BLACK team and the MUDCAT BLACK coach put a kid from his team in to run in the last inning. this was this boys only show on the field in the whole game. yes i am a daddy watching/listening from the sidelines. if the mudcats took a moment to watch/listen to what others coaches, umps are saying about them they hopefully would try to improve their reputation. i am not a hater i just appreciate it when coaches look at the big picture and try to build character in a team and not a team of characters!
