I think at 16 and up people are a little past all this, who has the best team. Keep it at 12U where it belongs, along with parents that are bragging about little johnny hitting hisI 225 ft homer. At the higher age groups it is more about college, showcases and what you need to do to get to the next level. Enjoy each level while it last, cause it all ends eventually

We are not arguing.....just a little good natured banter between fans..........personally, I coached little league for 8 years and as much as I enjoyed it, it was sometimes painful baseball to watch....now I will enjoy the 16U/17U level and good luck to all the teams......should be alot of fun.

A previous writer told us to look at who won the Boys of Summer 16U division last summer. It was the Long Island Braves Gold. This team surprised so many of the so called "power houses". They had the Coach of the year - who is the head coach at Holy Trinity High School. This team will only get stronger as time goes on. Good Luck to all but my money is on the Long Island Braves Gold.
Thank you for setting things straight. I am the coach of the NS Cougars. We knocked out the Braves gold team in three games. Then we played an unbelievable three game final against the CGI Braves and came up 1 game short. For the record, both Braves gold and CGI Braves are great teams. They are both well coached, and the players themselves were very good as well. Look for all three teams to improve next year as be as good or even better in 2012.

First off, the wording that was used was "Who won the Division" not who won the Championship. Second the Storm did WIN the division and did not play the Playoffs because it was scheduled at the same time as the East Coast Championship at Diamond Nation with 70 of the best teams from around the East Coast. BTW The Storm won the Blue Chip Tourney going undefeated, if you dont think they could not have won the BOS playoff, look at last years result The Storm NO HIT The CGI Braves in the Championship Game. If the Storm would have played in the BOS Playoffs the result would have been the same as last year. Remember to be the best you have to beat the best.

LI Storm very good. They won the division by .5 a game and ANYTHING happens in the playoffs especially 6 games in three days. Excellent team, but you have to give credit to the team that won the playoffs. CGI Braves

CGI Braves are a good organization, and congrats on winnig a depleted playoff. But sorry if Storm and Titans are in playoff most likely a Storm-Titan final. Not taking anything away from Braves or Cougars but Storm and Titans are better teams with more pitching over the long haul.

What is there to even argue about anymore since these kids were thirteen the cobras and breakers have dominated and even though a couple of teams have got lucky and beat them that doesnt make them a better team. I was at all pro during the breakers tryout and was suprised with the new talented faces i saw there. i cannt speak for the cobras but the breakers will definatley be a top team like every other year.

I dont understand how the Breakers are successful every year. They put a team of ragtag kids together and always find a way to win. Who do they even have? I know the coaches son is very good, I've seen him playing almost every position. The Small stocky shortstop is good and throws hard, and the ****** kid ***** is good too but who elses do they have!?

16u [***censored***] [***censored***], watch out for them, they will be good. ok will keep an eye out for them lmfao
Breakers lost the 15u original team they went bust... Coach could not steal kids so down the drain it went.
16u team plays baseball heaven no where else. lets see them get tested a bit, leave the backyard and see how u rate . Cobra's are more talented without a doubt.

Only one with class?
You watch all the other teams. Last years 16U division had a ton of great guys.
And like we have said before, THEY ALL PLAY DOWN, if Titans, Storm, Whalers, CGI, Bandits did that, they would kick butt too.
Sorry did not mean only one with class as far as other teams, you are correct many teams wiht class. I was referring to Lou being the only one with class in the breakers orgz

Sad to say, but this website has lost it's mojo. Just looking at the recent postings! What stagnant nonsense! It's been so long since I placed a post under my User Name, I forgot my password. If the topic is "16U and 17U Teams To Look Out For," who are the teams and with which players? If the website sensors continue to interfere with an honest exchange of thoughts by deleting postings, it's time to part ways - as apparently many already have.

The whole story is the 17U team went .400 (8 - 12). I guess tne New Math makes it the 17U that went .500.

No Al we are not mocking anyone. What we are doing is simply stating the record was .400 not .500. If you view that as mocking that is your problem. To be honest I think it was a) great the team played up and b) even better that they played wood bat. Who ever made both decisions was, IMHO, looking ahead with the best and correct intentions for the coming season. Have a Happy New Year and a great 2012 baseball year.

Vogel is the real deal....and I dont think he will ever make it to South Carolina.....he will get drafted in the 2013 MLB draft and go to the minors. It would be nice to see him get drafted in one of the first few rounds and get some signing bonus money.

What a bunch of ridiculous nonsense.....why all the confusion?? Used to be when you played the Titans, you knew you were gonna see a really strong team....now.....who knows???....too many teams!!!.....This is what happens when people get greedy and try to expand too much.....the quality will go down when the quantity goes up.

Agreed, they are diluting their brand with all of the teams. After filling almost 4 full teams with class of 2013 kids, they moved a bunch of additional HS juniors down to 16u. So now you are talking about over 60 2013 kids in the program. Can they all be studs? Some of the younger teams are really awful.

Some of the kids they kept this year are lucky to be playing HS ball, let alone college. Alot of kids who are on the bench in school ball are on Titan teams this year. Bottom line is they really take care of the better kids and help ge tthem to the next level. With the lower teams, especially at the younger ages, it's all about making money as a business. Many of those kids done after HS

Did you ever think that maybe some of these kids need help and didnt get the breaks of the so-called studs and now maybe it is time for them to develop. As far as awful goes, the only thing that is really awful is your comment. I give any kid credit that works hard and gives his best,at least you always get effort and their love of the game ( a player you consider sub-par) is no different than any of your so called studs.

Point is they represent themselves as an Elite travel team with top talent and paid coaches. Their is very little devlopment or practice with this organization as they primarily play games. Their are 6 winter workouts/tryouts and then 3-4 practices before season starts and then a few indoor ones during the summer as they do not get fields very often for practice. On top of that cost is around $2,000 just for the summer. If you want development, find a town league with a good coach and get up to a filed 3-4 times per week and filed grounders, flies and take live BP and don't spend all that money.

Im glad you said that I cannot believe parents are falling for this cash cow... Let me break it down 16 Man Roster, 4 Teams 64 Kids x 2000.00 $128,000.00... Plus they charge you to try out... Wake up people you want to leave an organization that your child starts every game enjoyed his friend and actually practiced on fundamentals to going to a large roster where your child is an number and rides the bench. But I guess you feel good saying you have a winning record. Stop bashing the small guy you're sad its about the kids!!! Moron

I assisted with running a small travel organization, (2) teams, and I dont like the "cash cow" phrase insinuating that the coaches are pocketing the money. When you add up tournament fees, league fees, umpires, uniforms, baseballs, insurance, etc.......it adds up. $2000 is not unreasonable for a good team going to a good number of tournaments. Do your homework and do the math.

Basic economics – provide a product that people want and the price is determined by supply and demand. Why shouldn’t those who run organizations make money? It is the American way. Nobody is forced to play on the ……………. (fill in the name – there are at least 5 that come easily to mind). It is the parents who have the unrealistic opinions of their children and pay money that might be better spent on tutors, family vacations etc. I do not work for the …………(fill in the name) just somebody who has been around.
