Rumor has it that BB Heaven will not be offering leagues after the spring season 2012 - anyone heard differently?

The old owners took down the nets in the Batting Cages when the hurricane hit and never put them back up. Before all you negative people start making comments about something you know nothing about ( but think you do ) why don't you give the new owners a chance.

BBH has there problems but lets face reality- they are the best option on LI. NJBL is a complete joke with coaches cancelling games whenever they want, umps are horrible. Fields are just a joke. The schedule that comes out in the beginning doesnt mean a thing. You see teams that have games scheduled for the weekend but you can also see that team is scheduled to play a tournament away somewhere els. they cancel with no penalty. Boys of Summer is so unorganized youjust cant do it. So regardless of their problems BBH is our best option.

Agreed - But also the most costly. I guess people just expect to get what they pay for - sarcasm aside. Hopefully the new owners will make the improvements needed to help justify the cost.

NCYAA is a better option. With better competition.

NCYAA is no better, they cant get a schedule out, you get the first few games, h comp is not much better the first 4/5 teams are good then you get LL teams...NJBL does have some bad umps and the fields are provided by the homes teams if they have one. Frank has always answered my emails and has worked on getting us a field when I did not have one, also if your team is not that good you can put them in lower divisions, lets face it there are more avg. team out there than really good ones..nothing worse than beating a team 17-1 cause they can't field or hit...

BOS you get a call about field changes on route but the comp is real good....I read a few other leagues are stating, anyone have the info on them....I like BBH cause you can have a rain storm and your playing an hour later...either way no league perfect and you need to do what is best for your team..being in nassau and having a above avg. team I dont want to travel out east on a tues. at the end of the day I don't have the next Jeter on my team they play cause the love the game we all know were paying for our kids college edu in a few......best of luck too all..

NYCAA plays half of their games in queens and bronx anyway.

I have never played a game in the Bronx with NCYAA. Most of the games are in Long Island. The city is tough to get fields for the teams. Soccer takes all turf fields even if they are baseball. If your team had an issue with certain areas G would accomadate. Queens is really not that far.

Your nuts BOS is unorganized games are cancelled and fields changed on way to field without notice. BBH much more organized although they could be better. If your supposed to play you will.

how can anyone who playe din BOS make that statement. They are so unorganized its crazy. 2 days before season starts still dont know schedule. games switc hed at last second. Showing up to field and having 4 teams there to play on 1 field. All of these things happened in just 1 summer season. BBH has issues also- but they are still the best option if you dont live in western nassau.

Ncyaa never plays in the bronx and if you have a field you will play there.I have a field every year and its boring to play home every week so half my games are at home and half away. The ncyaa will provide a field for if you dont have one.My team doesnt mind travling thats why its called travel baseball. Also we love going to queens and to randals island because the competition is very competitive.

We played BOS last summer and had no issues. There are occasional field changes but never last minute. It's real TRAVEL baseball. We played in all of the best fields on Long Island and they are very organized. Three or four years ago when they partnered with BBH it was a mess. Every league has its good points and bad. Make a choice.

ncyaa is expensive $550.....umps suck....they wont release a complete schedule so that the league can accommodate its favorite teams like the cp stars....take notice this year how they play the easy machups so that they can rank high and eventually have the easy playoff machups also....dont be a fool n think that he is trying to accommodate you by not seting the complete schedule.

NCYAA cost $400 up until next week. And the favorite team thing is the biggest joke considering they would love to have his son on team and he is not playing for them. Yes you get ranked based on Big G reg season standing. Only games that matter are against top teams. Why would the stars play up in summer and fall if they wanted to help rankings?

You had no issues. Last minute field changes were the norm for us. Nothing like showing up to the field in one location only to have to drive to another town because they double booked the field. You have to have internet on your cell phone with BOS because as your driving to the game it changes can't rely on the web site either, or how about those early morning game when you have to be at the fied for 8am and you check the web site game sitll on only to get half way there and get a text game is cancelled. Oh yeah they are a good ;eague.

ALL THIS BITCHIN ABOUT WHOS BETTER
THE REAL QUESTION IS WHY DO YOU BOTHER PAYING EITHER ONE OF THEM THAT OUTRAGOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY TO PLAY BALL!

kIDS DEVELOP FROM COACHING NOT WHAT LEAGUE THEY PLAY IN.
NEITHER ONE OF THOSE LEAGUES ARE DOING ANYTHING FOR THE KIDS EXCEPT COLLECT AND SCREW YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY.

IF THIS IS NOT TRUE THEN WHY R YOU POSTING ABOUT IT!

wow feb 18th and bbh fields are full with teams practicing .try and do this any where else .bbh is the best no other place like it.for all the teams that dont play there shame on you.15 dollars per game per kid spring and summer a small fee compared to the 20 dollars per kid indoor workouts for the winter.coaches and parents dont complain about that.now you have a field in feburary .what other league offers this.by the way that includes umps and insurance.

I can go to any turf field to practice in February. No one is using them because it is freezing out, genius. How much are you getting paid by BBH? You are obviously drinking the kool-aid. Fields in February are not a problem.

It was nice to get the boys out and work on things are are difficult to do inside. All those teams that took advantage of the weather and BH's offer are in better shape than the those that didn't. yes u could go to any other turf fields.. they should be available mid march i believe.correct fields in febuary not a problem if u play at bbh.all others not available so teams trying to take advantage of the semi cold weather.not a bad idea.try it so u can find something else to complain about.by the way 600.00 dollars per kid for spring and summer bbh season covers all costs including use of fields for practice.prices getting out of hand in organizations.not the facilities.

Solet me get this straight. East Caost Umpires head guy runs BBH and now has teams? Just to connect the dots...Don't play a BBH team at BBH with East Coast Umpires.

Is anyone else seeing what is going on here?

Obviously BBH has an interest in their own teams success. AND THE GUY THAT RUNS THE FACILITY IS THE HEAD OF THE UMPIRES. GREAT JOB BY THE NEW ABSENTEE OWNERSHIP

Beat us? haha. What team are you from? About 80% percent of my team goes to a pitching coach and hitting besides our 2 practices a week. Believe me you couldn't be in better shape then us. But you are 1 of those teams that don't leave the confines of bbh so you keep beating up weak teams and that make you feel like your a top team. Try playing top teams.

My team has zero issues with fields, we have a field and we pay cost for our season not a penny more. No overhead for us, so you are preaching to the choir. I'm glad you're happy but you don't need to blow smoke up all our as*e*.

Why does more than half of your team go to a pitching coach? You can't teach them yourself? Maybe you should not be coaching at this level if your're not capable of coaching. Please, please tell me your team and I will tell you how much we will beat you by.

Yeah, you will tell someone how much your team will win by!! You sound like a real baseball guy. I hope all your players go to professionals because you are not. And you sound like 1 of those guys who will teach something they have no clue about. What age group do you coach?

do you g uys really think that any umpire making 60 bucks a game is going to fix games for BBH regardless of who owns the facility/ Thats seriously questioning the integrity of people who do it mostly for love of the game not $$. I'm not saying they are the best umps- but accusing them of somethinglike tat is very wrong. Especially before anything even happens. if you have beef withthem thats fine- but accsuing guys of fixing youth sports is ridiculous.

Yeah I kinda agree it is ridiculous speculation. Have I seen the BBH Umps make terrible calls in the past? Yeah but I certianly don't think that it is anything more than a bad call, which we have all seen at one time or another at every place our boys play. Collusion? Give me a break!

It does not mean they are intentionally doing it. If you are umping a game and in your mind you know your boss runs the team, don't you think you would have some unintnded prejudice for his teams. As an umpire it is a bad situation to be in, I blow this game and I get less games to ump. All may mean well but the preception is bad and when competition involved it looks worse.

When your making money, you damn right they care, for just being youth baseball their are a lot of people out there making a good living, you can't downplay the relationship between the umps and BBH teams run by the same person. Are the new owner aware of this. Are they also aware his business support all there competition.

I agree, alot of people care about youth baseball because its a booming business. The amount money hitting, pitching and strength coaches make is crazy. These facilities have to be making a pretty penny and some organizations are making out like bandits too. Parents care cause their kids are playing and everyone else cares because the money is there to make.

For someone to even think this with YOUTH baseball, is crazy.

Teams are being developed (not to get calls from umps) but to give these kid the oppurtunity to train in their new indoor facility that is going on the complex, which will provide (those currently not on teams) the oppurtunity to train and play at the facility with professional instrcutors and coaches when it opens.

It's also going to provide other teams to play games and train during the winter as well. To even state what is being said on this blog is a joke.

Wait, don't they do this at other places as well, like Diamond Nation for one. They have their OWN Umpires & Teams.

Look at the big picture here. What's happening now at the facility is exciting for all involved.

Move on to another topic already.

This is their first year playing under BBH. How can you make excuses about losing to them if they haven't played yet? Please answer this for me.

Can you bring your own umps? I would think a differentcheck umpire group should be brought in to ump the games. That would make them legit.
