He plays 3rd, outfield, pitcher and once in a while 2nd abd short. He is basically a utility player. Tried on a 12 inch rawlings today and felt to big for him.

First I just want to say I think the best bet is to have your son try on a bunch of gloves and see which he likes best.

Also the A2K gloves are all adults and might feel huge on your sons hand depending on his size.

With the positions he plays I recommend buying a 11.5 inch glove, it’s a good size for 3rd base and you can manage 2nd and outfield if there occasional play. I like my middle infielders to use 11.25” gloves and Outfielders usually use 12 inch gloves which are designed differently.

My son plays 3rd and pitches and he uses a A2000 1788A and a TPX Pro Flare 11.5“. The Wilson is a 11.25” but he likes being able to transfer the ball quickly and its feels very much like a 11.5” its also 100% pro stock leather like most Wilson gloves. What you mentioned is superskin and that’s just an option just like pro stock leather or the softer leather you find in most retail stores like Dicks or Sports Authority.

Again I think a 11.5” glove will work for infield and the occasional outfield play, but before you blow a chunk of cash have him try some on. Gloves at that level come in all types of pocket depths, flares non flares.

I like the A2K because they feel stiff, but again there big on the hand. My son loves his A2000, and TPX pro flare. I also really liked the Rawlings pro preferred and Mizuno gloves. Nokona was a good glove but they are no longer. They do make a glove under the Insignia brand and they look great but are hard and over price, personally I think there garbage.
