i love your sense of humthere are no scholorships in baseball like football or lacrosse ,so maybe change sports.we live in the northeast ,99.99 % of these great ball players are not even going to make a college team never mind get scholorships (full).so get you kid on an acedemic program to get some scholorship money and just let them enjoy their high school years and if they can play ball let them enjoy that to. do not discourage them from trying but the odds are stacked against them.academice are far more important. if you have you r kid in catholic hs you really would get better bang for your buck if you concentrate on the books and not the ball.isn't that why they are there??????????????????????

NCAA Rules below:

College baseball scholarships are offered at the NCAA Division 1, NCAA Division 2, NJCAA, and NAIA levels. NCAA Division 3 does not offer athletic scholarships but offers other forms of financial aid.Number of College Baseball ProgramsNCAA D1: 298NCAA D2: 238*NCAA D3: 365

NAIA: 205

NJCAA: 512

Total: 1,618

*NCAA Division 3 schools do not offer athletic scholarships, but do offer other forms of financial aid.

Number of scholarships offered per team, per year, by Division:

Not all school that are eligible to offer scholarships will choose to do so. For example, Ivy League schools choose not to offer athletic scholarships.

Baseball is an equivalency sport which means all scholarships are NOT full scholarships. For example, in NCAA D1, coaches can divide the value of the 11.7 scholarships available to them between as many players as they see fit.

NCAA D1: 11.7

NCAA D2: 9

NAIA: 12

NJCAA: 24

this is exactly my point all these people saying they are getting all this money is b.s. the best thing to do for your kid is let him excel in academics and hope he gets some college money from that . you may get a taste from baseball ,but never enough to cover cost. let them play ball and have fun again i say 99.99% will not make college ball. thats only because we are in the northeast.

The Catholic High School Scholarship or financial assistance is standard for all Catholic High Schools. It is tuition assistance. The financial need of the student and parent is the basis of this scholarship, and is not based on the athletic ability, musical ability or academic ability of the student.

Many Catholic High Schools also have available an alumni scholarship program. This program is directed at providing financial assistance to those in need and is funded by the graduates of a particular school. In many cases alumni organizations will provide assistance to children of graduates of the school. This program can be a great way to provide your child with the same well rounded education you received.

There are also in many cases endowment funds that are sponsored by individuals who graduated from the school. In many cases these endowment funds are set up for a specific scholorship purposes such as athletic, academic, music, etc. The alumni organization may be able to help line you up with an individual graduate who is willing to assist in paying for your child to attend catholic high school.

Catholic High School's have freshman level teams (9th gradeers) so he probably won't make the JV.
BTW boys this was a joke, its an alter ego comment to the contradictions posted here.....My son is starting Catholic next fall, if he makes the JV team great if not its a learning experience and he'll learn to work harder if he wants it..

If you think by sending your kid to Catholic HS for sports will help he/she get scholarships for college.....you are only fooling yourself. If they are that good it won't make a difference where they go.

Bank the $8000 per year on tuition, 32K over 4 years....theres your college scholarship! Anything else is a bonus. The only reason to send your child to Catholic school is to receive a good catholic education...nothing else!

As far as schlorships is concerned, academics is the key, Honor Society, high SAT scores and GPA is what counts. Colleges offer more money for academics than sports. If child is bound to a sports scholarship, he/she is also bound to the colleges sports program including living by there rules. Much too much pressure on the student to excel in both sports and academics. Basically the student has no social life. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, free money is free money and sports scholarships are great but it does come with many responsibilties for the student.

Sorry to burst sports-nutz parents bubble! Maybe instead of wasting your money for sports lessons, parents should put the money into extra help lessons at school!

The odds against playing baseball at an NCAA member institution are high but I would not describe them as astronomical.

Less than three in 50, or about 5.6 percent, of high school senior boys interscholastic baseball players will go on to play men's baseball at a NCAA member institution.

The odds of playing pro ball if you play NCAA are high against but actually improve by almost double. Less than eleven in 100, or about 10.5 percent, of NCAA senior male baseball players will get drafted by a Major League Baseball (MLB) team.

The odds against playing pro ball if you do not play NCAA are extremely high against. Approximately one in 200, or approximately 0.5 percent of high school senior boys playing interscholastic baseball will eventually be drafted by an MLB team.

St. Anthony's is a poorly run program whose leadership continuously gets in the way of whatever talent they can assemble. Plus, every pitcher is a cookie cutter trained by the same person.
