The best players make it.

The fact your posting means im sure your daughter will not be, because if she hit .600 and threw no hitters you wouldn't worry.

what a jerk- perfectly legitamate question. Do your own coaches vote, do coaches vote for other team player, do the umps put in a vote at the end or each game? all of these aproaches have been used in Suffolk over the years. And for the guy who wrote that the fact your asking means you daughter wont make is more clueless than anyone else. if you really think the best players make it each year and t here arent politics involved or coaches favorite player or vendettas against annoying parents- then you are the one who doesnt know anything. Sorry Houndsfan- you will see that this site is filled with losers.

Really another idiot posting to this site. You have no idea who my daughter is and you are a coward for posting as anonymous. This is her first year in high school and I have no idea how the process works so I posted a question to this forum. Your answer implies two things #1 you have no idea so you decided to post a stupid answer. #2 you imply that if a girl is good a softball than the parents automatically understand all processes involved without ever asking a question.

Please stay off this site unless you have something helpful to contribute.

Now the question still stands does anybody other than the above idiot know how the process of all county and all state works

Thanks

All county selection is a JOKE Coaches make recommendations, then the coaches lobby for their players and I know of a parent who lobbied for her daughter to get all county. So The AA1 & A1 teams are treated like an AA2, AA3, A2, A3, B1, B2 and the C’s. There is no parody. So a B2 all county may only be an all conference or division if lucky on a AA1 or A1 with few exceptions.
They vote prior to the playoffs. Not like the sports writers who select All Long Island and All State. Their have been All LI and State players who were NOT all county! JOKE!!!

Everyone draws straws for it.

WHAT ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT? All star voting? How about you let try-outs happen AND if she is that good it all works out. Everyone wants to know every single thing, it is killing sports.

Thank you to the first poster. I am not worried nor will I lobby for her. It was a general question and one that I knew nothing about. How is knowing something killing sports? I would rather be well informed than sound like an idiot talking about something I do not know.

What am I worried about? NOTHING AT ALL?

in Suffolk County, after every game the coaches fill out a sheet and rank three players from both teams... 1st player gets 5 points, 2nd player 3pts, 3rd player 1 pt.(I am not sure if they rank both teams players or just the opposing players) At the end of the season, a coaches committee gets together and add up all the points and thats how they figure out all-league..all division and all county. (the sheets might have to be turned in after each game to someone but of that I am not sure).
in Nassay county, at the end of the year coaches meeting, all the managers bring their stats and each coach puts up a girl for nomination. The higher you finish in the standings, the more girls you get to put for nomination. Thats how I remember it being...if its changed since then I am not sure.
