Tournaments - I found a great site for locating out of state tournaments from the leading national associations. As of this morning when I last checked...there are over 350 tournaments posted for 2010 from USSSA, USTBA, ECTB, Nations, Cooperstown Village, Cooperstown Dream Park, Past Time Tournaments, Super Series, American Legends Park, National Elite, Disney, Triple Crown, Grand Slam Baseball, Simply The Best, Premier Baseball, Ripken, AAU and many more. Too many to list...

As you get up in age with the boys remember that the ripkins and cooperstowns are more for entertainment than baseball competition. They are more expensive also. You will do good with triple crown, battle of the south, ectb, perfect game, etc. Although perfect game starts at u14 I believe.

Be ready for the competition. You will face teams with 9 of your number 3 hitters in their lineup.

Batter up!

Cooperstown is not for entertainmnet you will run into some of the best competition in the country in this tournament, probably better than any other in the country. Some of these teams fly kids in just to play in this tourney. The problem is the teams are all pooled together and not by competition level making it really unfair. That is why teams from LI never do great in this tournament. Most top teams in this tournament are put together just for this tournament and are all star teams from local or state leagues. the LI teams are teams that are together all year and play together in leagues all year.

I would agree that Ripkin is less competition and there are a lot of local LL teams that compete because of the easy location for them Maryland, Baltimore, South Jersey etc..... A lot of teams from that area enter 5 or 6 tournaments a year and don't play in leagues so that they can play against better competition then they would see in their local leagues. this is also the case with Sports at the Beach in del.

Yea, you are right. I stand corrected. The big cooperstown is a good tournament with good teams. The baby cooperstown seems somewhat bogus to me.
