Can the owners of Baseball Heaven please SELL IT - 07/29/08 12:03 AM

You know what they are doing out there now right? If an age group in a baseball heaven tournament has less than 16 teams entered they have scrapped all playoff semifinals. Bracket winner vs. Bracket winner. You do not see this anywhere else. They do not maintain the scoreboards even for most championship games. They seem interested in getting paid only. The Trophies are old and the same year after year and it seems like they just do not care about the customer. After seeing how it SHOULD be done with this type of facility out at Ripken Myrtle beach this past week baseball heaven seems like the minor leagues of youth baseball facilities. At Ripken for EVERY game the scoreboard is maintained and players are announced for each plate appearance. At the end of the inning you get..."For the Tides...no hits no runs, no errors and at the end of 3 and a half....Tides 2 and ____0". I spoke to the assistant manager out at Ripken about this...They are building another big field and another little league field right now that will be open for 2009....They have also just purchased 50 more acres behind there wonderful facility with plans to expand to 7 more fields within the next 3 years...The manager said Cal and Bill Ripken may be interested in purchasing baseball heaven...and why not? This would essentially give them control of all of the top youth baseball facilities on the east coast. They should control them all...they run it the right way....like baseball people. Oh and did I mention that all of there tournaments have a consolation bracket as well? And a Quarterfinal round? Cmon baseball heaven...put the place up for sale so baseball people can buy it. Scrub the Elephants and decorate the place with the Ripken Logo.

Scrap the elephants and the attitudes.

Make the fields unique. Move the fences in right or left field and make a Fenway Monster with a higher wall.

Move home plate up and adjust the outfield fences deeper in some places so that passed balls or wild pitches mean something with a runner on third.

Give some interest to the place. Act as though you appreciate people traveling from other states to play at your facility. Accomodate people.

Why not have playoffs? Why have meaningless games after a loss?

Why not keep a flatscreen in the main clubhouse that keeps standings updated for the tournaments?

The Ripkens have cash on hand to make Long Island into another baseball Mecca.

From what I've heard of the owner's origins in baseball, this seems to fit. He's in it for the buck, not making his customers happy.

A couple of years ago, they had a summer fastpitch softball league. He found out he made more from baseball, and told the girls to walk. Add in the fact that he didn't give them much advanced notice as to his plans!

It has nothing to do with the owners, Lou Volpe has been running the place since the day it opened. He is the director of baseball operations, no matter how much you complain the place sells out almost every tournament and will continue to do so and thats all the owners care about

Lets see What Lou Volpe can do with an organized boycott because if they keep dumping on the customers by eliminating the semi-final games thats exactly what he will be dealing with.

LOL!

Baseball Heaven tournaments do not even count in the grand scheme of things nationwide. Get some new ownership OR attract some teams like Baltimore Buzz, Aberdeen Arsenal, East Cobb (any of the teams). Maybe then people won't laugh at BBH tournament results.

LMAO. Sounds like a loser didn’t get what he wanted and little Johnny didn’t bat 3rd and play shortstop because you know “he’s the best”. You probably got smacked around in a tournament. You know NOTHING about the tournament process and are obviously clueless in all other areas of operating a weekend tournament. Go play in Hot Stove or East Coast where you belong. You’re all a bunch of clowns. My boys have been playing at the facility for over 10 years. Look how they made this season work during a global pandemic. All the customers are wearing masks and they are enforcing social distancing very strictly. I’ve seen it personally every weekend since they re-opened.
The original post is correct and the complex was sold and the place has been running smoothly ever since. You’re just bitter because you can’t win a $3 trophy on a given weekend. Type away keyboard warrior. You’ll always be a bitter loser and you’ll probably put too much pressure on your “All-Star” son who is going to wind up quitting because his daddy is living vicariously through him. [***censored***] will be standing and operating for a long time. It’s not going anywhere. So step your game up and get on a team that can win a trophy. I’m sure you’re on some “C” level team and were told from some organization out in Nassau that “we’re the best.” I only had 1 issue in all my years there, and that was with the Team Steel director who was lazy, a liar, and very unorganized and unprofessional and blamed all his mistakes on someone else. He was just there to collect his paycheck. He is now gone. Good riddance. That is great for all the players up there that play for them, including my son. My kids love EVERY trip we take out there(Win or lose) and never had an issue besides the lazy team director who has left the facility and it has been a blessing and 2 of my boys are back with the team after his departure. The other 2 are both going to be playing D2 baseball next year because of their time at [***censored***] and their weekend tournaments that you hate so much.

Keep it up with your hatred, we love winning 15-0 against people like you and watch you leave the nicest facility in the area with your tail between your legs. Go play on those amazing Hot Stove fields and play against little league teams where you belong

😂😂😂😂

A bunch of clowns with a keyboard.

What’s family baseball? That sounds like a team that belongs in Town of Brookhaven C division. It’s a business, it’s supposed to make money. I don’t agree with some of the things they change each year but why wouldn’t they care about money?

It’s also been packed since July every weekend.....guess they’re doing something right. We were lied to by the man who runs the in house teams multiple times so we left. I wish I would have known he was leaving before tryouts. I plan on bringing my son back to them for next year and my daughter is having a blast on her softball team....so I ask again, what do you mean by family baseball? You’re mad because they try to make a profit off of each family? It’s a business, do you get mad at Disney World when you pay $12 for a soda? 2020 was a crazy year. The fact they were even able to open and keep the place safe is impressive. Odds are you played for their team. You were lied to by the man who is now a professional liar for the Titans or you don’t get along with management because they probably told you that your kid isn’t as good as you think he is. Reality can be a bitch sometimes and make people bitter. Keep complaining.

I’ll see you at the complex just about every weekend next year on your “elite” team you were sold when you left. This post just screams Town of Brookhaven talent all over it.

12 years later. Lou is gone and yet the place still stands and is packed every weekend during a global pandemic . Lol. A Boycott. What a tool. How’d that work out for you? Bet you’ve played there everyone of those 12 years. Oh boo boo my loser of a team went 2-1 and we let up 37 runs. We should be in! Waaaah waaaaah. Sounds like another team that couldn’t win that trophy you all make fun of. Bet your kid wound up quitting and doing drugs because he has a prick of a father. GO BASEBALL HEAVEN GO!!! Going to be there for a looooooong time. Well past my oldest’s playing days. Now I have my youngest up there. Won 3 tournaments this year alone. They’ve done an excellent job improving that place as the years progressed.

Baseball heaven is very good for the younger ages. But when you get older and serious about possible college you need to move on to legitimate organizations like LI Titans. Been around and experienced a lot. There is no comparison. Just look into the commitments year to year.

I couldn't agree more, well said. That's the most rational thing ever said on this website. The Titans also do take credit for a player that plays with them for maybe one year and goes to a college and they claim they got him there, so pump the brakes a little bit there, but the Titans are great for 16u and above.

[***censored***] is meant for all ages for there tournaments. My son played with them until he was 15 and under and then he switched to lacrosse. We had a great time there and were treated respectfully the whole time with a maybe a few bumps in the road regarding practices and stuff but nothing major. Anybody on here complaining about [***censored***] is a Father from a losing team, someone who got cut by them, or someone who played a tournament there and went 0-3 and got run-ruled every game. When my son played, this website was must read material. My age group (2022 Grads) would post on here literally everyday. It used to get really ugly and personal. I think they are still archived on here. If you're bored look around on here and go back and read some of the stuff. It truly is disgusting what these men and women would write on here.
