1. East Cobb Astros (GA) - The Astros have solidified their hold on the #1 spot in the TBS rankings with an impressive recent run including a National Championship at the 14U Perfect Game WWBA and a dramatic title at the Battle in the South with wins over Team Alabama (TBS #3) and the Dallas Tigers (TBS #4). Head Coach Dave Roberts and assistants Jeremy Luster and Matt Dale have the ‘Stros clicking on all cylinders and looking ahead to a possible unprecedented three-straight USSSA Elite 24 Championships. The Astros will first participate against some of the best 15U and 16U teams in the Country at the East Cobb Complex during the 15U and 16U Perfect Game WWBA events. A majority of the 14U Astros players will also play in the 17U WWBA event at East Cobb – one of the most scouted amateur baseball tournaments in the nation.

2. HB Nitro Elite (CA) – The Elite move up to the #2 spot in the current TBS rankings. Although the Elite did participate in the Battle in the South as expected, numerous coaches familiar with this club believe they stack up well with the Astros and other top National teams.

3. Team Alabama (AL) - Team Alabama is simply a solid, well-coached team with several players as good as anybody in the nation. Good showing at the BITS where TA lost in the semi-final to the Astros. TBS expects TA to be in the running at the Elite 24.

if you are gonna make a comment make it a complete comment.

You are one of these:

a kid who is jealous for never getting a chance to go to a tournament like a Ripken Aberdeen or Ripken Myrtle Beach

a father whose kid isn't good enough to play on a team going to a national tournament.

someone without anything resembling a real job who does nothing other than criticize people and teams

a loser

just a lost soul

for the record the boys had a great tournament. They went 3-0 in pool play beating a very tough team "Southern Maryland Tigers" on Sunday morning to get the 2 seed.
In the playoffs they faced the number 3 seed Aberdeen Arsenal who was also 3-0. Aberdeen Arsenal is tied for the 20th ranking in the country. They had just beaten the Baltimore Buzz. the buzz have 5 pitchers who throw in the mid 80's. Aberdeen Arsenal is the team that Cal ripkens son ryan ripken plays for. He is a 6'3" lefty who throws gas.

The lead changed hands twice but the game was tied at 5 going into the top 7th.
An error, an infield hit and about 9 line-drives later mixed in with a few walks and the arsenal scored 11 runs.

the final score did not do justice to how the team played that weekend.

crushed? dont think so.

what tournament did you, or your son play in that weekend?
those boys played against a nationally ranked team and played well.

go back under your rock and hide. see you in Myrtle Beach.

Hey Storm basher....just curious to see what is your beef with the their team?....they look pretty good and so what if their parents are proud and maybe boast (maybe too much)...that happens in life, who cares?...seems like just you...it didn't bother me to see their postings...hell one of their kids (a Long Islander) hit a ball out of a pro stadium and you find fault with that?...I enjoyed seeing it...I like when all our Long Island teams do well in tournaments...sounds like there is something personal going on with you and them or maybe your jealous...kill them all you want but they look like a pretty good team and you are the one looking foolish

My son's team played the LI Sorm team the other night and we were mercied...the other 3 games we played against them this season were close games...they are a very talented group of kids....some of the best I have seen collectively at one age group in a long time...they were a very classy group...they didn't run the score....we threw one of our top pitchers who is going to be a top varsity Suffolk HS pitcher...boy that team can hit....I agree with the above poster that it is pretty sick that you would root for a local team in a national tournament against an out of state team or that you find pleasure in their loss...I didn't see it, but it sounds like they played a real good game vs. a real good team...you can hate the kids, but you have to respect their talent...who cares if their parents are loud mouths...we have a couple of parents on our team that our loud mouths...it would have been a great thing for Long Island Baseball if Team Rawlings or the Storm to beat that Aberdeen team...this web site should be about promoting Long Island Baseball not criticizing it.
