I am curious about the experiences in some of the out of state tournaments, specifically Disney, Myrtle Beach, Cooperstown, Ripken, Rehoboth DE.

Good points, Bad points
Competition level
Cost factors
Difficulty with management
Pitching rules

Ripkens in Maryland great for players 12u and under as you play on complex which is great!.kids over 12 play off complex a real bummer. Fields nice and hotel in complex . Price's start 135.00 per night but you don't have to drive to the game. Other hotels about 2 miles away. Good competition and great time for the kids.

The last local showcase for 2008 graduates was yesterday at All-Pro (pitchers/catchers), the signing period begins next Monday. For next years showcase events look at the links on the side of the main page for Perfect Game, Blue Chips, etc. Also you should look up Baseball Factory and Team One, they do a good job.

College showcases are money makers. Scams. Do yourself a favor and get a Professional DVD done by a local scout, Scott Capolla is the best, he will do infield, arm strength, running, all camera angles. By far more moe appealing to college coaches. I know 3 kids from EI who never went to a " Showcase" and are now playing D- II ball.

Exactly what is the scam part? Do college coaches show up at all? I think that if the programs provide a venue for players to showcase their skills then the showcase has done its job.

I've never been to one myself but I can't see exposure being a bad thing. Please, tell me what the scam part is all about.
