Yes there were two outs and an error was made. The error extended the inning and then the homerun was hit so the runner who reached on the error and the hitter who hit the homerun are both considered unearned, because if they did not make an error he would have not batted.

isn't the runner that reached on the error is the only run that is consider unearned, the homerun would be earned because it was not caused by an error. Someone should look this up and let us know

congrats to islip you guy beat us pretty goog during the season didnt think you were aloud to canvass who you thought the best player in the county was because you got press.just not fair

They were inteviewed after a county championship game. How do you get to a championship game? By having a winning program and great players. I guess you feel that the best player in the county is on the worst team?
Get a team to the finals 2 years in a row and say anything that you want to Newsday or News 12. They were both at the game yesterday looking for comments. It is customary to interview the winning coach or the players who did things to change the game. Burke came to bat with his back to the wall, tie score, top 7th. He could have put a ball in the gap but the grass was 6 inches high and it would have been a single, maybe a double. They were playing him down the line. He had to get the run across. He hits an opposite field shot 380 feet over the head of the right fielder, PAST the long grass onto the pedestrian walkway. A home run in any other field but the budget at Harborfields does not allow for a fence.
To me, that is a sign of being the best in the county.
BTW, what did your selection as best player in the county do in his game yesterday?
