Yes ur right Southold is b school, the only C schools are
Port Jeff - C
McGann-Mercy - C
Pierson/BH - C
Stony Brook - C
SI/Ross - C

So it looks like it will be Port Jeff beating Pierson. Mercy lost its two best players from last year, one to graduation and one moved out of state and they were a two man team.

Word from the high school coaches is Suffolk County is going to a double elimination playoff system this year (if the Athletic Directors approve it) whereby the top four seeds will receive double elimination and everyone else single elimination. Is that fair?

I agree double elimination does prevent a so-so team from sneaking by with one outstanding pitcher but the high school playoff seeds are determined by a group of athletic directors and administrators, who are lucky if they see their own team play any games let alone the rest of the county, so now you are putting an awful lot of power in their hands to determine who the top four seeds are in the playoffs, because that 5th and 6th seed are really losing out and they do not just go by better record when seeds are determined.

If the top four teams in the AA schools are getting double elimination thats four out of a possible sixteen to eighteen teams! Thats going to be tough to seed teams especially if all five leagues champs were AA schools like last year, how do you decide which league champ doesnt get double elimination? I wouldnt want to be the guy who has to tell the coach of the 5th seed he didnt get double elimination!!

if he has too fast of a fastball, why doesnt he slow it down?

Who is his coach? Dont blame Cosby if his fastball is too fast.
and as for a crazy changeup- well that is just plain silly!

there is no such thing as a crazy pitch!

I am guessing whoever wrote that about Cosby has not seen him pitch, he throws about 70 mphs. I saw him pitch last year as a freshman and he looks like he is about 12 year old and doesnt throw much harder than your average 12 year old, but he throws all strikes, keeps hitters off balance and does a pretty good job. I dont know if he is considering a knuckleball but he should just stick with what he has and continue to get hitters out.

Some guy posted here and on another board that Cosby is better than macaluso from islip because babylon beat islip in the small schools championship. The guy probably didnt see both of them pitch and just continued a rumor that he heard somewhere else. they both are 10th grade now. macaluso throws hard.
