Islip should get a rematch with Babylon this year.

For the comment about it being an "Easy Lock" that Islip will win the State Championship again, you have got to be kidding me.
Winning the State Championship last year (the first in any sport for the Islip School District) was an amazing accomplishment and from what I hear there was nothing easy about it, so to expect that it will even close to easy for the team to repeat this year is absolutely ABSURD to say the least! They have a talented group of players coming back but they did lose some big players last year and to put those expectations on a group of high school kids like that is unfair. Good luck Bucs but lets not get crazy!

Its not that crazy. They didn't lose any of their HORSES, Burke and Rogers. They lost a good third baseman and a gritty catcher who had some clutch hitting in the playoffs. They guys headed to Division 1 programs are still there. The centerfielder is still there. The former 9th grader, now 10th grader who shut down John Glenn and others in the playoffs is still there. It will be a feat no less but still very possible.

Perhaps a poor choice of words. Maybe the posting should have said an easy lock to COMPETE.To say easy lock to win is a stretch in any sport at any level.

How about Babylon? They had a freshman pitcher also. Cosby??? Is Rivas still there or graduated?
Should be a good season

They also lost their leadoff hitter Seymour who was a key table setter in that lineup and I believe was 7 for 9 at the top of the order in the state playoffs and could play all 3 outfield positions, he will be tough to replace.
